Who We Are
Smith & Vallee designs, builds and installs quality cabinetry and furniture from sustainably harvested woods. We pride ourselves on timeless designs and fine craftsmanship. Look for our woodwork in and around Bellingham, Mount Vernon, Anacortes, and the greater Seattle area.
Smith & Vallee produces artisan-quality work with lasting allure. Established in 1997, we emphasize the natural beauty of wood with great attention to details like exact grain matching and our signature sliding dovetail joint. Whether you’re looking for a new kitchen or bathroom, a dining room table or a simple bookcase, we bring your ideas to life with elegant cabinetry, furniture and woodworking that stand the test of time.
Our woodshop is located just a short drive north of Seattle, so we are frequently working on projects in the greater Seattle or Bellevue area. If you have a remodel or new construction project anywhere in western Washington, please contact us to learn more about the ease of our process and our dedication to personal service.

Smith & Vallee Gallery
Next to our woodshop is a restored turn-of-the-century schoolhouse that houses Smith & Vallee Art Gallery. The local gallery hosts monthly exhibitions by Northwest artists. A new exhibit opens on the first Saturday of each month with a public reception that draws visitors and art enthusiasts from all over western Washington, including Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Olympia, and Tacoma.

We Are Located in historic Edison, WA
Smith & Vallee is located in the quaint community of Edison, WA, next to Bow, WA and near Bellingham. Edison is about 90 minutes north of Seattle on I-5, but because of our proximity to the city we accept projects throughout the greater Seattle and Bellevue areas.
With that said, we also encourage people to visit us in Edison, simply because it is such a charming town on the Edison Slough. On the first Saturday of each month, Smith & Vallee Gallery hosts a reception for a new artist showcase. Join us for a reception or visit Edison and you’ll discover the friendly, pastoral charm that inspires our hard work and artistic nature.
